The Opportunity: Position CEO David Kong and Best Western Hotels & Resorts as industry advocates and thought leaders to help fuel hotel industry recovery amid and post-pandemic.
What We Did: Developed aggressive media relations strategy to drive steady stream of earned media throughout the year. As part, leveraged Kong’s tenure and experience to secure opportunities with top-tier media that would be interested in learning about the needs of the hotel industry, as well as projected recovery outlook. Key talking points were developed to give a hopeful outlook, while stressing how Congress and the public can help fuel a faster return to normal.
Outcome: Secured coverage with Bloomberg TV, CNN, CNBC, Yahoo! Finance, Hotel Business, Skift and Hotel Management among others. Many of these outlets sought to speak with Kong multiple times following the initial interview to gather his perspective on industry recovery. Kong quickly became one of the main voices of the hotel industry and was recognized as an integral part of its return.
